Diet Coke's Delta Airlines Napkins Were More Creepy Than Funny

Delta Airlines handed out new Diet Coke napkins during their in-flight drink service. The napkins had a line to write your name and phone number and prompted people to give their number to someone they like on the plane.

The front of the napkin teased, "because you're on a plane of full of interesting people and hey ... you never know." The back nudges further, "be a little old school. write down your number & give it to your plane crush. you never know ..."

Well let's just say people didn't leave the plane newly coupled up.

The "matchmaker" joke totally fell flat. Passengers tweeted out photos of the napkins and said they were more creepy than funny (or useful... unless you were wiping the condensation off your drink).

Now both companies are apologizing for the fail. "We sincerely apologize to anyone we may have offended," The Coca-Cola Company said Thursday, "We worked with our partners at Delta to begin removing the napkins last month and are replacing them with other designs."

"We rotate Coke products regularly on our aircraft as part of our brand partnership, but missed the mark with this one," Delta Airlines stated, "We are sorry for that."

Have you ever met someone on a plane and it led to a date?
