Everyone is talking about this PSA from SANDY HOOK PROMISE for a reason this morning.
It's shocking. It's sobering. And it's reality. If you haven't seen it, I'd advise viewer discretion before you do watch it.
I can say as a parent of a High School daughter, this whole "thing" is always in the ethos for our kids. They're aware that this... is part of a new reality for some reason. Active shooter drills are a part of what happens during the school year now. Lockdown drills.
This new normal... isn't a good thing. But it's the new normal now.
It's hard to watch this PSA... what's even harder to watch... is what isn't being done to address this problem.
Maybe that will change before what caused this PSA happens again.
Hug your kids before they go off to school. Send 'em a text to say "I love you." Say a quick prayer... because this new normal... should never be normal.
