So, in case you didn't know... Disney's re-imagined, live-action version of THE LION KING just had it's global premiere... and the embargo on reviews lifted this morning!
Now, I shouldn't say LIVE-ACTION. But it's LIFELIKE. The animated classic... was an animated masterpiece... and Disney, as is their way as of late, has been taking their biggest and best animated stories and re-telling 'em with a modern twist.
Much like it's animated predecessor, this incarnation of the LION KING seems to deliver a surprisingly delightful experience for moviegoers!
I haven't seen it yet, as I'm writing you whilst on holiday in South Texas, but, from what I've read of the reviews I read, aside from Jason Frailey at WTOP's review, because I haven't read it yet, I'd say it goes without saying we need to go see this movie. I'm seeing words like: Amazing. Breathtaking. Delightful. Moving. I also see some people who say the remake was unnecessary... but come on, it's Disney. Look at the talent they have assembled for this!
Can't wait to see it. Looks like it's gonna be amazing.
