Movie theaters won’t be crowded this weekend. The cumulative total of the top 10 films will not reach $80 million.

Jack Black and Cate Blanchett star in The House With a Clock in Its Walls, which debuts this weekend. Revenue of the PG-rated adaptation of the children’s book will approach $25 million.

The black comedy starring Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick, A Simple Favor, is tracking toward second place and another $10 million weekend. Another holdover, The Nun ought to be in the same ballpark.

Two new releases appear to be on track for $5 million weekend. The romantic comedy Life Itself faces difficult headwinds of poor reviews. The ensemble cast includes Oscar Isaac, Olivia Wilde, Mandy Patinkinand Annette Bening. Also opening is Michael Moore’s political documentary on the 2016 presidential election called Fahrenheit 11/9.

A third new movie, Assassination Nation, is dead on arrival. Starring Joel McHale, Bella Thorne, Suki Waterhouse, it might make $2 million. (Box Office Mojo)
