An unauthorized biography of Prince Charles reveals the peculiar demands of his pampered life. For starters, the 69-year-old Prince always travels with his own orthopedic bed and toilet seat.
Charles’s staff, which totals more than 100, unscrews the original toilet seat and replaces it with the one that is custom-fitted to his tush.
Charles travels with furniture, so that any room where he sleeps overnight has all the creature comforts of his master bedroom in Buckingham Palace. His wardrobe is immense. He’s changed clothes up to five times a day. And carries at all times a flask filled with martini.
One nugget in the book called Rebel Prince seems to summarize his strangeness. His wife, Camilla Bowles, heard Charles “shriek from the kitchen. On entering she saw him pointing at some food and asking, ‘What’s this?’ She replied: ‘It’s cling wrap, darling.’” (The Sun UK)
