Lauren Jauregui Defends Little Mix Going Nude In 'Strip' Video

Lauren Jauregui won't stand for anyone shaming Little Mix's decision to bare it all.

Last week, the British girl group unveiled an empowering and expressive music video for their song "Strip," which happens to feature a scene with all four bandmates — Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jesy Nelson — posing nude with insults scrawled across their bodies.

The Mixers loved the message, though it seemed to miss the mark with British broadcaster Julia Hartley-Brewer.

"'Little Mix strip naked and are scrawled with insults.' Yet again, young women pretend that going naked empowers them. It doesn't," Hartley-Brewer tweeted Sunday (November 18). She went on to accuse the ladies of exploiting their bodies to "sell themselves" and also disgraced them for "dressing like hookers."

As anticipated, the tweet received all sorts of backlash from the group's fan base, including the Fifth Harmony alum, who wasn't letting her off the hook, either.

"If your intention is the empowerment of women, how about you don’t add yourself to the list of misogynists who deem what is appropriate enough to be 'respectable'. All forms deserve respect," the "Expectations" singer tweeted. "They are no less empowered because of their clothing choices. Don’t be salty they look [fire]."

The columnist also didn't seem to make matters better for herself when she attempted to justify Australian boy band 5 Seconds of Summer for stripping down for the exact cause she fussed about.
